AN abandoned dog was rescued from a flat in Tolladine, Worcester.
Gorse and Rainbow Hill Safer Neighbourhood Team assisted the RSPCA in the recovery of the dog which is now being cared for by the RSPCA.
The RSPCA have now begun an investigation.
An RSPCA statement said: "The RSPCA can confirm that on Wednesday, 18 January an inspector from the RSPCA joined officers from West Mercia Police at an address in the Tolladine area of Worcester.
“A dog was taken from the premises and is currently being cared for by the animal welfare charity.
"As the investigation is currently ongoing, we are unable to comment further at this time.”
A West Mercia Police spokesman said they could not comment until the RSPCA have finished their investigation.
