THE Mayor of Worcester, councillor Paul Denham, is hosting an auction to raise money for the three charities he has chosen for his year in office.

The event, on Friday, February 24, at 7pm, at the Guildhall in the Hight Street, will benefit Midlands Air Ambulance, YHA Breaks for Kids and Action for Children.

Among the lots will be original paintings by local artist Peter Carey, which can be viewed in advance at the Guildhall the previous Friday, February 17, between 10am and 4pm.

Also on offer will be a miniature replica of Ken Potts's statue of US presidents Adams and Jefferson, which is due to be erected in Fort Royal Park.

Other lots include a tour of the Houses of Parliament, tickets for Worcester Warriors, Worcestershire County Cricket, the Royal Three Counties Show and the Swan Theatre, a meal at the New Four Seasons Chinese restaurant and much more.

The evening will also feature close harmonies from singing group SassCappella.

Tickets, at £10 including reception drink and light buffet, are available from the Tourist Information Centre at the Guildhall, or from the Civic Office on 01905 722001, or via Eventbrite at bit.ly/2jGmJ62.
