A 'DISCO inferno' helped ignite a fundraising drive for Worcester's breast unit as organisers got into the groove for charity.

A meeting was held at the unit to celebrate fundraising success and to deliver proceeds from the Pink Ribbon Exercise Worcester charity event organised last October.

Pink Ribbon Exercise Worcester, who provide pilates classes to help with breast cancer rehabilitation, hosted a 1970s Disco Inferno themed charity event at Sixways Stadium in Worcester to raise money for the Worcestershire Breast Unit.

During the evening a surprise flash mob dance, choreographed by Vicky Shone, was performed by pink ribbon friends, who also helped with the organisation of the event.

Rachel Orme, who set up the Pink Ribbon classes with Debbie Yeomans, said that the night was a resounding success and had raised £1,420 for the local breast unit.

She said: “I could not of done it without the help and support of my pink ribbon friends.

"The new unit is amazing and it was lovely to physically see all the resources it can now provide when caring for those with breast cancer.

"I would like to say a very big thank you to all those that helped to support the event.”
