PUPILS from a Malvern primary school have created Chinese New Year dragons.

The reception year youngsters from Great Malvern Primary School made the dragons at home with their families.

The project was part of a Home Challenge which encourages parents to get behind their children and support their learning.

The school has previously done a similar challenge where the children created their own scarecrow exhibition.

Stu Kent, the school's foundation stage coordinator, said: "Our parents give our children incredible support during these challenges and really put time, effort and dedication into making school topics come alive for their children.

"This is our 9th annual dragon challenge and this year seems to be one of the very best.

"All of the dragons will be given a home at school for all of our friends and visitors to see.

"Multicultural themes are very important at our school and Chinese New Year is a fantastic way to introduce new customs and values to our children."
