WEST Mercia Police is encouraging students to sign up as cadets to kick start a career in the service.
Year 11 pupils living in Worcestershire have until Friday, March 10, to apply for the two-year voluntary programme.
The scheme helps cadets improve their leadership and teamwork skills as well as boosting their fitness and employment opportunities.
Detective Inspector Justin Taylor said: "Being a cadet gives young people valuable experience in social skills and gives an exciting insight into life in the police service.
"They have the chance to make new friendships and contribute to their local communities, as well as improving their job prospects."
The cadets will undertake 15 hours of voluntary work each quarter and help support the police at community events.
They will also provide peer support to younger students, attend weekly meetings and a summer activity week.
An application form can be found at https://www.westmercia.police.uk/article/8121/Apply-to-be-a-police-cadet.
