COMMUTERS faced heavy traffic on the M5 northbound after a crash between a car and a lorry and two breakdowns.
A lane was closed after the vehicles crashed at 1pm today (February 17), between junctions six and five. Highways crews reopened the lane at 1.35pm.
There were also two breakdowns on the northbound carriageway, creating long delays between junctions eight and five.
One car broke down in the middle lane of the motorway at 2pm, between junctions seven and six.
Highways England held traffic back with a rolling road block, enabling crews to move the stranded vehicle off the carriageway.
Another breakdown happened between junctions six and five at around 3.15pm, although crews cleared the scene and reopened the lane at around 4.08pm.
