A SPECIAL concert to mark the 100th anniversary of a Worcestershire school is planned in Worcester Cathedral next month.

The event, which will be held on March 11 and is open to the public, is one of a series of celebrations being held to mark the centenary of Abberley Hall School in Great Witley,

A ‘Centenary Chorus’, to be formed by current and former pupils, will perform at the concert and director of music at Abberley Hall, Martin Schellenberg, said that it was set to be an amazing performance.

He said: “The singers will be accompanied by a professional orchestra and soloists and we expect this to be the most magical evening full of glorious instrumental and choral music held within the spectacular setting of the Cathedral.

“We would like as many of our old pupils to join our centenary chorus on March 11.”

The programme will include music by Mozart, Vivaldi and Handel and the concert will start at 7.30pm.

Any former members of the Abberley Hall School chapel choir who would like to take part should contact m.schellenberg@abberleyhall.co.uk for more details.

Tickets for the concert are priced at £10 and can be bought either through the Abberley Hall alumni website:

https://alumni.abberleyhall.co.uk/homepage, by emailing Judith.brocklehurst@abberleyhall.co.uk or on the door on the night.

All money raised will go to Abberley Hall Foundation which is dedicated to invest in the buildings and new projects within the school and into the John Walker Bursary fund.
