A DRUG dealer has been jailed for stealing bikes and for a string drugs offences, some involving heroin and cocaine.

Daniel Bullock who tried to sell some of the bikes he stole on Facebook was jailed for 79 weeks at Worcester Crown Court on Friday.

He admitted two counts of theft of a pedal cycle, one count of theft from a person and a number of drugs offences, two counts of possession of a class A drug (cocaine), two counts of possession of a class A drug (heroin) and one count of possession with intent to supply a class B drug (cannabis).

The 22-year-old of Bays Meadow, Droitwich took the bicycles from Droitwich and Worcester city centre during early February and also stole a handbag in Worcester for which he received a total of 27 weeks in prison.

He was arrested on February 8 in Droitwich after being seen riding on one of the stolen bicycles.

Investigating officer PC Paul Lambon said: "I hope that the custodial sentence reassures the public that we take crimes of this nature seriously and will act on any information given to us.

"We are still looking to trace a number of bikes that have been stolen in Worcestershire in the early part of 2017, some of which have been advertised on Facebook with a view to a quick sale.

"I would urge anyone who has bought a bicycle, or any other items such as mobile phones, in similar circumstances in February of this year to please come forward as they may have information which is vital to a number of ongoing cases."
