ST Richard's Hospice in Worcester is encouraging women to wear their best outfits during the Ladies Day event this summer.

The annual CrownGate Ladies Day, which last year attracted more than 8,000 people, is again being held at Worcester Racecourse - this time on Saturday, June 3.

Women attending are being invited to don their most glamorous outfits and flamboyant hats, to have a flutter and watch the racing, and in the process raise money for St Richard's Hospice, the chosen charity for the event.

Last year’s Ladies Day raised more than £18,000 profit for the hospice.

Men are also welcome to the event, which is being sponsored by Close Brothers Asset Management, and on arrival racegoers are greeted with a reception drink on the marquee lawn accompanied by live music.

A lunch consists of three courses, followed by race card top tips from an experienced tipster, afternoon tea and a grand auction at the end of the day, hosted by Philip Serrell Auctioneers.

Individual tickets are priced at £105 limited to four per booking – or tables of 10 for £1,250.

Alison Parkes, senior fundraiser at St Richard’s Hospice, said: “Yet again, our ladies will take centre stage at this fabulous annual event at Worcester Racecourse. Men, you are welcome too.

“Come and enjoy a day of glamour and glitz at what is undoubtedly one of the county’s most popular racing events. We look forward to welcoming you.”

Money raised is donated to the hospice, which provides free specialist care for patients living with life limiting illnesses, and supporting their loved ones.
