A MAN has died after his car overturned in Chaddesley Corbett, near Kidderminster.

The man in his 80s was driving a blue Renault Clio on Woodrow Lane at around 9.50am today when it is believed to have left the road, hit a bush and overturned.

Police officers and paramedics tried to revive the man after finding him in cardiac arrest, but he could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two ambulances, a paramedic area support officer, a senior paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulances from Cosford and Strensham went to the scene.

A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “On arrival at the scene, crews were told that the car had initially collided with a bush before coming to rest on its roof.

“Police at the scene had already got the man out of the vehicle and started CPR after finding him in cardiac arrest.

“Ambulance staff took over and administered advanced life support but unfortunately it soon became apparent that nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”

The man's family and the coroner have both been informed.

Police officers want to speak to anyone who saw the crash or who saw the vehicle and the way in which it was being driven prior to the collision.

Anyone with information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting incident number 174S of March 2.
