PERSHORE rail users could be left behind in plans to speed up train services between Worcester and London from December 2018.
And a public meeting is being held on Thursday to allow the town's residents to debate the problem.
Rail campaigners say that Pershore, the second largest town on the Cotswold Line between Worcester and Oxford, - could end up with a second-class service if current plans go ahead.
There are growing concerns regarding the levels of future service from Pershore, coupled with the long running saga of a 15-year delay in planned extensions to car parking at the station.
The meeting, at Pershore Town Hall at 7pm, has been called by the town's Public Transport Group and the 1,700-member Cotswold Line Promotion Group with the support of Pershore Town Council, whose mayor, Cllr Bob Gillmor, will be in the chair.
Representatives of Great Western Railway and Worcestershire County Council will be attending.
