A MAN punched several holes in his partner's door after an early morning row.

James Wiltshire, aged 20, of Sheepscombe Drive, Worcester, damaged a door at his partner Kelsey Burns's home on Selsey Close after a night out drinking with friends.

He was involved in an argument with his partner and he took out his frustrations by punching a door and damaging it to the value of £150.

Kerry Lovegrove, prosecuting, at Worcester Magistrates Court, said: "It was 5.10 in the morning and the defendant was at his partner's house after a night out drinking with friends, he had consumed quite a lot of alcohol.

"He said he punched the door in anger as he did not want to punch his partner, he made several holes in it."

Defending, Diljit Bachada (CORR) said: "The defendant cannot remember a lot of what happened but a row broke out with his partner, the defendant cannot remember what it was about.

"He has now agreed that he will not drink when he is with his partner, even if they are out together.

"They have spoken about the door and he is going to fit it."

Wiltshire has also agreed he will seek advice from his GP to help curb his anger issues.

His partner at the back of the court said that she was satisfied he was going to pay for the door so no compensation was ordered to be paid.

He was fined £185, ordered to pay costs of £135 and a victim surcharge of £30 for the offence on Saturday, February 18.

Wiltshire appeared in Worcester Magistrates Court on Thursday March 9.
