TALENTED youngsters from Worcestershire and beyond gathered at the Royal Grammar School in the city to take part in the Worcester Competitive Arts Festival.
The event, which has been running since 1951, gives talented young people the chance to showcase their skills in poetry, drama, choral singing, speech and music.
This year, over 1,000 people took part in the festival, which took place on Saturdays, March 11 and 18, with top adjudicators coming from all over the UK to mark their performances.
On Saturday, Worcester Mayor Paul Denham came to the school to witness some of the performers and had out prizes.
He said: "I absolutely love anything to do with the performing arts, and Worcester seems to attract more than its fair share of talent in these fields and has a great musical heritage.
"The festival provides young people with a unique opportunity to perform in public and in a competitive environment.
"We also have to thank all the volunteers who give up their own time to make events like this possible."
