IT WAS all about "girl power" when five generations of the same family met for a catch up this week.

Gladys Winning, who lives at Beechwood Residential Care Home in Ryall, near Worcester, enjoyed a visit from her daughter Pam Uzzell, granddaughter Lorraine Styles, great granddaughter Natasha Styles and great, great granddaughter Darcey Hamblett on Tuesday.

Last week, the group – who have a collective age of 257 – celebrated Mrs Winning's 97th birthday.

Mrs Styles, Mrs Winning's 52-year-old granddaughter, said: "It really is girl power when we get together.

"We try to get together a lot. My nan is just lovely and my mum is the backbone of the family and keeps everyone together.

"Nothing is too much trouble and everyone comes before her, she’s like a little angel sent from heaven."

Mrs Winning said: "It is pretty amazing, especially the fact that we are all girls."

The granddaughters all live in Tewkesbury, while Mrs Uzzell, 75, lives nearby in Upton.

Little Darcy, aged four, her mum Natasha, who is is 29, and the grandmothers are now looking forward to celebrating a special Mother's Day this Sunday.
