A WORRIED 88-year-old is appealing for help to find her granddaughter's birthday present – which she accidentally left behind at a bus stop.

Joan Gittens, from Drakes Broughton, was on her way to Evesham to hand over the gift at 10.30am on Saturday, April 8, when it was misplaced.

While waiting for the bus in Broad Street, Pershore, she put down her bag – only to leave it behind in her hurry to board the bus when it arrived.

The gift, for her granddaughter Alex Gittens who turned 22 on Tuesday, included a card which contained £30 and a book.

"I feel so annoyed with myself to think I was so silly," said Mrs Gittens, who immediately returned to Pershore to look for the gift. "I felt awful, I was so sad."

Despite searching the street and asking in a number of shops, noone had seen the bag, or the birthday present.
