THIS is the strange moment a badger bites a man at a barbecue in Worcestershire, drawing blood.

A woman can be heard shouting 'can we see the badger?' before a man picks it up and it sinks its teeth into his hand during the bizarre incident in Alvechurch.

The video, which has featured in the national media, shows the man, said to be called Mark, who is clearly in pain, try to free his hand from the animal's mouth.

A woman can he heard screaming and others can be heard laughing.

According to reports in the national press 26-year-old Charlotte Reynolds was at the get-together when a 'random farmer' arrived carrying the badger.

Ms Reynolds, a critical care nurse from Bromsgrove, said the victim went off for a TB and tetanus jab but thankfully did not need stitches.

She said: "I was at the barbecue party and I was sitting with my friend and a farmer turned up holding a badger.

"It was a bit weird and very random. I shouted 'can we see the badger' and he held it up and it bit him."

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "We are aware of concerns about the treatment of a badger following an alleged incident in Alvechurch, Worcestershire.

"We are carrying out enquiries and would appeal for anyone with information to call 101 and quote incident 204s of 14 April 2017."
