DRIVERS encountered heavy traffic in the city centre today due to an emergency electricity cable replacement.
Temporary traffic lights were set up on Thursday, April 13, in Deansway, Worcester, at the junction with Copenhagen Street.
The lights have been installed to enable Western Power Distribution crews to fit a new electricity cable - but an unknown issue with the lights this morning created delays for motorists.
Western Power Distribution did not clarify what went wrong with the lights but confirmed that they attended the site and fixed the issue.
One lane in Deansway, towards the direction of Worcester Bridge, will be closed after the lights are removed on Saturday morning.
This closure will remain in place until Tuesday morning.
