FAMILIES raced around a city park in search of chocolate rewards at this year's annual Easter egg hunt.

The event was organised by the Friends of St George's RC Primary School and took place in Gheluvelt Park, Worcester, on Saturday, April 15.

Participants had to search for hidden Easter eggs and answer questions which were on signs placed around the park.

Prizes were awarded to those who correctly answered the questions.

Lars Frederiksen, of Albany Terrace, Worcester, took his children, Elliot, aged seven, Charlotte, five, and Isabella, three, to the event.

The 46-year-old, who is originally from Denmark, said: "It's great fun. We have done it for the last couple of years.

"I think it's lovely that they know what to do and get excited about Easter. They also meet up with school friends."

Candi Phillips, aged 39, from Malvern, also took part in the Easter egg hunt with her eight-year-old son Declan Phillips.

"It's a good event, we need to get cracking and find some eggs though," she said.

"It was £5 per family. At a lot of places it's £12 to get in and then extra for the hunt."

The hunt took place from 2pm until 4pm and cost £2.50 per child.
