IT was standing room only at Fladbury Village Hall where a proposal to build a crematorium was discussed this evening, (Monday).

The scheme by the Westerleigh Group to build the crematorium next to the A44 at Fladbury Cross was debated at the annual Parish meeting, chaired by Parish Council chairman Ian Southcott.

After a short presentation, residents were invited to speak at the meeting and brought up various issues including traffic concerns, air quality, what could be built on the land if the application was rejected, and whether the area required a crematorium.

A ballot asking whether residents were for or against the crematorium was held, and the results are to be revealed tomorrow.

• A full report on tonight's meeting will be available to read on the Worcester News and Evesham Journal websites tomorrow.
