A MAN who has travelled across the world on his motorbike is now undertaking a tour of his own country.

Nathan Millward, aged 37, of Worcester, will travel the length of Britain on his ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats.

He will make the trip on the same Honda CT110 motorbike that he used to travel from Sydney to London, and from New York to Alaska.

Mr Millward has recruited 25 other bikers to join him on the 1,400-mile journey, which starts on Sunday, May 13.

“I’m married now and looking to buy a house. But I still want a taste of that freedom,” he said.

“A couple from New Zealand, who I met in the Himalayas, are coming. And people have also seen about the trip on Facebook.

“All these guys are strangers, it will be a social experiment.

“One woman who is having chemotherapy got in touch and said she wanted to come. Just to live her life.

“Another is coming from Australia and buying a bike just for it.

“We have retirees and students taking part, a mix of all ages. We will meet up each night at the campsite.”

Mr Millward said they will start the trip at Land’s End visitor centre at 9am and ride 200 miles every day for eight days.

He said the convoy will use as many coastal roads as possible during the ride from the bottom of England to the tip of Scotland.

Mr Millward thinks each person will spend around £200 on food, fuel and camping costs.

The biker wrote a book about his Sydney to London trip in 2009, called The Long Ride Home, and another covering his American bike ride in 2013, titled Running Towards the Light.
