HUNDREDS of indecent photographs of child were discovered on a man's computer after he emailed one to somebody by mistake.

Colin Wright, aged 75, admitted making 75 category A (the most serious) indecent pictures of children, 60 category B indecent pictures of children and 673 category C indecent photographs of children when he appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Thursday, April 27.

Wright, of Bath Road, Worcester also admitted possessing an extreme indecent image which involved horses and dogs and distributing one indecent picture of a child.

Kerry Lovegrove, prosecuting, said: "It seems he sent an email in error to somebody who received the indecent image and contacted the police.

"Various devices were seized by police and it revealed [the images]."

The offences happened on or before November 17, 2016, while the offence of distributing an indecent picture happened on November 11, 2016.

Magistrates said the level of offences were so serious Wright, who previously lived in Inkberrow, must be sentenced at Crown Court.

He will appear at Worcester Crown Court on Friday, May 26.

A condition of his bail was that he should not have any unsupervised contact with children.
