A WORCESTER-based care home provider has scooped a national award for the second year running in recognition of its high standards of care.

Sanctuary Care, based at Castle Street, has been named one of the top 20 large care home groups for 2017 by leading online guide Carehome.co.uk.

To celebrate the award, Sanctuary director of care operations Stephen Rees attended a high tea party celebration at its Regent Residential Care Home in St John’s.

He said: “Everyone at Sanctuary Care is delighted with this achievement which is a glowing testament to the dedicated teams in our 68 homes who care for our residents with genuine kindness at the heart of everything they do. This award is truly for them and shows the invaluable high-quality care and support they deliver every single day.”

Davina Ludlow, director of Carehome.co.uk, said: “Care home groups, which put compassion, dignity and kindness at the heart of their care, are making a huge difference to residents’ lives.

“Sanctuary Care has proved that it provides a high standard of care throughout its homes and we’d like to congratulate it on being a top large care home group! We feel it is a real achievement to be recognised.”

The 2017 awards are based on over 45,000 reviews received from residents, their family members and friends.

One of the comments was: “My husband is well looked after with such kindness and the help is second to none. Brilliant first class care home where relatives are treated as family.”

Another reviewer wrote: “A massive thank you to all the wonderful staff for their kindness and first class care towards our mother during her stay.”

And another said: “I can honestly say that both my mother and I have been treated with the utmost respect and kindness throughout her stay.

"I have literally been made to feel like one of the family and everyone from admin, domestic, care staff and management have always been so friendly and welcoming. I can’t rate them highly enough and it gives me pleasure to say it is one of the best homes.”
