A MOTORCYCLIST was rushed to hospital with head injuries after crashing off his bike.

The single-vehicle crash took place at about 6pm yesterday (Wednesday) near the junction of the A4084 and Egdon Lane, at Windmill Hill, near Worcester.

Emergency services - including the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham - attended the scene, and found the 33-year-old man lying in a ditch.

Paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service treated him for cuts to his face and head, and he was taken to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital by land ambulance.

Police closed the road while the man, who had been riding a Suzuki bike, was treated until 6.50pm.

A West Mercia Police spokesman said: "West Mercia police were called to at approx 6pm yesterday (Wednesday, 3 May) to reports of a single vehicle collision near the junction of the B4084 and Egdon Lane, Worcester.

"The incident took place on Windmill Hill and involved a motorcyclist riding a Suzuki who had fallen from the vehicle.

"He received head injuries and was taken by land ambulance to Worcester hospital for treatment.

"The road was closed whilst emergency services responded to the incident, and was later reopened around 6:50pm that evening."

WMAS sent two ambulances and a paramedic area support officer to the scene shortly after 5.54pm.
