A MAN denies sexually assaulting two underage girls after plying them with vodka at a nature reserve.

Zachary Brant, of Ransom Avenue, Worcester, faces six charges against two girls, one aged 12 and the other 13, after he arranged to meet them on Facebook.

The 21-year-old denies three counts of sexual activity with a child, two of sexual assault and one of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity at his trial at Worcester Crown Court.

The jury of seven men and five women heard on Thursday how the alleged assaults are said to have happened at the Mount, in Pershore, on Saturday, December 5, 2015.

Samantha Crabb, prosecuting, said the mother of the older girl received a call from the mother of the younger, saying she was worried the girls were drunk following a telephone conversation.

The mother of the older girl and her partner headed out in the car to look for them.

They were found on the steps of a house in Pershore at around 7.15pm and both were described as having mud and leaves on their clothes. Although fully dressed, the younger girl's bra was exposed.

The mother of the younger girl said her daughter had shared a selfie photo on Instagram saying: "I need some help, someone ring me."

Judge Robert Juckes allowed evidence to be heard stating that, on the day before the alleged sexual assaults, Brant had messaged another underage girl, who was 14 at the time, on Facebook.

He told her he had vodka and wanted to meet her, but she declined, telling him she could not be bothered, the court was told.

One of the messages from him read 'sneak out and come for a drink'.

Temporary detective sergeant Gina Fletcher-Humphris said Brant was arrested at the Talbot Inn, in Newlands, Pershore, at 2.27am the morning after the alleged assaults.

Brant said the girls kept messaging him 'hey' on Facebook so he replied, arranging to meet them.

He said he had already been drinking before he met them and knew both were underage.

He claimed the older girl snatched the vodka from him and denied trying to get the girls drunk or finding either attractive.

Brant said at one point the older girl kissed him on the lips and he said 'whoa!'.

He told officers she also put her hand down his trousers 'out of the blue' which he described as 'awkward'.

Brant said he did not realise the younger girl was only 12 and would not have gone to meet them had he known.

Brant told the officers the older girl kissed him first, then the younger girl, but he denied the older girl had performed oral sex on him.

Ms Crabb said Brant refused to give police his Facebook password, telling them that was 'all personal'.

The trial continues.
