TRAINS were stopped after a fire erupted next to the Severn Valley Railway line.
The blaze engulfed grass and hedgerow on the railway embankment, in Northwood Lane, Bewdley.
The line was closed from about 12.25pm to 1.20pm, according to Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service.
Crews from Droitwich, Kidderminster and Bromsgrove were sent to the blaze at 11.54am today (May 8).
They used beaters and backpack extinguishers to deal with the fire, which was under control by 1.18pm.
Firefighters left the scene at 2.48pm after damping down had been completed.
Police also responded to the incident.
