A PAIR of volunteers will sleep rough for a night to help feed the homeless.

Mike Mills and Sharon Multani will sleep outside the Guildhall in Worcester High Street to help their volunteer work.

The duo organise a group of fundraisers to feed homeless people, often outside the Maggs Day Centre in Deansway.

They have around 15 volunteers, ranging from cooks and sandwich makers to people who deliver the food.

Ms Multani said: "The amount of people who need our help keeps going up, so we hope that this will help us to feed more homeless and vulnerable people.

"At the moment we are the only group which provides these services at the times that we do."

The duo's friend Timothy Olsen added: "It costs them £50 a week to feed a group of men and women who have come to trust them and to rely on them for a hot meal four nights a week.

"Sharon and her colleague Sohail Farraz rely on volunteers to provide the food they need - I want to help them raise the money they need to keep this good deed going and for that I need your help."

The duo will be sleeping rough outside the Guildhall on Friday May 19.

They are hoping to raise £500 on their justgiving page at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/food-for-thought
