A CARE home support worker from Worcester has raised over £700 for the city's hospice.

Karl Worthington, who works at Shaw Red Hill care home, raised the funds for St Richards Hospice with a 13,000 foot skydive at the Hinton Skydiving Centre in Brackley, near Oxford.

He was inspired to raise money after caring for Sid, a resident who had previously been at the hospice.

Sid later died but after speaking with his family, Mr Worthington decided to arrange the skydive in his honour.

St Richard’s Hospice cares for around 2,500 patients and families in Worcestershire who are living with life-limiting illnesses, helping provide them with the best quality of life possible.

Mr Worthington said: “It really was a wonderful experience and knowing it was all for such a great cause made it even better. Thank you to everyone who has donated to this amazing cause."
