STUDLEY remain stuck at the bottom of Warwickshire League Premier Division after suffering a six wicket reverse against Rugby.

Inserted to bat first, Studley struggled for runs and found themselves removed for 124 all out after 40.3 overs.

Rugby strike bowler Henry Wilkins destroyed the top order when producing a match-winning spell of five for 14 from nine overs.

Wilkins ripped out the first five wickets as Studley slumped from 35 without loss to 41 for five.

Brandon Miller steadied the innings with 24 while Charlie Bass supplied a further 22.

Rugby's Vishaal Rathod with three for 36 then helped mop up Studley's tailenders.

Rugby then raced to a winning 127 for four in reply, reaching their target in the 23rd over thanks to solid contributions from Assad Qureshi 23, Owen Edwards 30 and Steve Ward 18.

Andrew Rhodes returned best bowling figures for Studley of two for 31 from nine overs.

Studley look to stop the rot this Saturday when they travel to Solihull Municipal.
