PUPILS enjoyed a party in the playground when author and former I'm a Celebrity contestant Nadine Dorries arrived.

Mrs Dorries was at Willersey Primary School, near Broadway, to open the school’s new play equipment, which has been funded through the Big Lottery and local donations.

The exciting new equipment has transformed the playground into an adventure paradise for all the children.

Headteacher, Mark Jackson, said: “Many people tell us how good it is to hear the children playing when they walk through the village or past the school, so we hope that the sounds of happiness will be just that little bit louder now."

After cutting the ribbon to open the playground, Mrs Dorries braved a lively question time with the children, where they discovered that she has written no fewer than seven books, that she likes to write from her bed and that she certainly would not like to be Prime Minister.

Pupils from year one were disappointed, however, to learn that she has not been into space.
