A MAN has denied a string of assault charges, threats to kill and possession of a knife.

Jack Brown, aged 20, of Clayfield Road, Bretforton, near Evesham, appeared at Worcester Crown Court on Wednesday where he was formally arraigned on six counts.

He denied two counts of assault by beating on February 13, one count of assault by beating on April 17, one count of theft of a mobile phone on April 17, having a bladed article without lawful excuse in Alder Grove, Evesham on April 27 and making threats to kill on April 27.

The case was set down for trial with a three to four-day estimate, starting on or after September 25.

Judge Nicolas Cartwright said a defence statement should be prepared in the meantime.

Bail conditions remain the same as before. They include a daily electronically tagged curfew between 7pm and 7am.

Brown must not enter Evesham unless to visit his doctor and in the company of his mother.

He must have no contact, directly or indirectly, with the alleged complainants and witnesses in the case.

The case could be heard either at Worcester or Hereford Crown Court.
