MIDWIVES are used to delivering other people's babies but seven staff at Worcester hospital maternity unit have all recently given birth to their own.

The staff from the maternity unit at Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester have all given birth themselves between January and April.

The group of midwifery staff - five midwives, a ward clerk and a maternity support support worker - all gave birth at Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester, either at the Meadow Birth Centre or the delivery suite.

The mums are Kate Staiger with baby Evelyn, Zoe Hughes with baby Oliver, Natasha Holloway with baby Albie, Lucy Laird with baby Rupert, Bryony Bell with baby Jocelyn, Becca Allison with baby Rose and Rosie Smith with baby Darcey.

A spokesperson for Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust said: “Congratulations to Kate, Zoe, Natasha, Lucy, Bryony, Becca and Rosie and their families.

"It is a wonderful story that staff have had babies of their own in our hospital where they usually support others during this exciting time.

"We are proud to provide, high quality service to our staff as we do to the rest of our local population we serve.”
