PERSHORE High School were excited to send a team of Year 8 students to the Royal Television Society Centre Enterprise Challenge event which was being hosted by the University of Worcester.

With contributions from the RTS, Kidderminster College and broadcast journalist and radio presenter Llewela Bailey, students learnt about the wide variety of jobs within the television industry and then worked together in a team to take on the role of production company, tasked with creating and designing a concept for a new TV programme.

The team then had to present a two minute pitch for their programme to a panel of judges, as if they were pitching a concept to a programme commissioner.

Teamwork skills and creative ideas were flowing well and they were delighted to find out that Pershore High School 's ‘Spot Light Productions’ concept for ‘Celebs Go Acting’ was selected as the winner from the Worcester competition.

Students are now looking forward to presenting their idea in competition against 12 other schools from across the country at the RTS Grand Final being held at The University of Wolverhampton on Thursday, June 29.
