LOTTERY grants have been given to good causes across Wychavon.

Projects in the West Midlands will share a total of £5,529,298 raised by National Lottery players with each cause in Wychavon receiving £10,000.

Inkberrow First School will receive an outdoor gazebo and an outdoor all weather play area.

In addition, Norton Juxta Kempsey First School will get an exploratory play and learning area including a wigwam, mud kitchen, storytelling chair and giant chalkboards.

St Barnabas CofE First and Middle School in Drakes Broughton will receive a playground refurbishment and will use the funding to re-equip their newly refurbished playground.

Yellow Scarf CIC will use the funding to provide drop in sessions and advice for migrants who are living with the effects of addiction.

People will be able to receive support regarding the issues impacting on their wellbeing and quality of life.

Offenham CE First School will install a trim trail and safety surface in their grounds, as well as purchase tables for use in a sensory garden.

Spectrum Days in Droitwich are transforming an unused garage into a new learning and social space, helping people who have disabilities.

Himbleton CE First School in Droitwich had their outdoor facilities improved as part of the early years playground project to encourage children to engage in physical activity.

England grant making director at the Big Lottery Fund James Harcourt said: “It is great to think that National Lottery players have now raised £36 billion for Good Causes and it’s when you hear about projects like these that you realise the incredible impact that funding has had on communities across the West Midlands.

"Whether the grant is for £500, or £500,000, our funding is used to run amazing projects led by local people. It really is life changing.”
