TODAY we look back to the year 1967, when fundraising to build the swimming pool at Lower Wick, Worcester, was under way.
The campaign aimed to raise £40,000 and this ‘thermometer’ was intended to show the public how far the appeal had progressed.
Mr C Y Joyner of the campaign committee braved the heights to paint in the latest total.
The pool finally opened to the public in 1974, 12 years after the project had been launched.
