A WOMAN and her dog are set to take on a barking mad fundraising challenge through Worcester this weekend.

Helen Richards, aged 57, will be completing two five mile 'cyclothons' on Sunday, June 25 to raise funds for Headway Worcestershire, alongside her Westie Sas, who will be riding in his 'dogmobile' attached to her bike.

The fundraiser will begin at 11am at the fountains by the river near Browns Restaurant.

The duo will ride down to Diglis Bridge over and along the other side through Cripplegate Park, in Tybridge Street, over the Sabrina Bridge onto the Pitchcroft and around Barbourne Park before returning to the starting point. They will then do the same route again at 3pm.

Helen, who works at Asda in Worcester, said: "It is great to raise funds for headway and raise awareness of wearing a cycle helmet both on and off he road."

She added: "To be honest, fundraising makes me feel fantastic and I am really looking forward to it."

Helen was motivated to raise cash for the charity as her daughter Lucy Paige, aged 38, works for the charity.
