WORCESTERSHIRE Virtue Empire exceeded expectations with some impressive victories after entering the Enderby Dodgeball Club charity tournament as underdogs.
The first two games were competitive, seeing Virtue narrowly lose 2-1 to both Enderby Bullets and Enderby Bulldogs.
They got back on track with a 2-1 victory over Nottingham Sheriffs but then lost 3-0 to Cannock MDL Raptors and 2-1 to Leicester Minotaurs.
While Virtue overcame the odds with an impressive display they missed out on the semi-finals.
“We entered an adult tournament with two players under 16 on our team plus one of our other players had a badly-sprained ankle,” said Brian Williams, captain and founder of Virtue.
“We didn’t know who our sixth player was going to be because Leicester Minotaurs were going to lend us a player.
"We therefore could not properly prepare for the tournament.”
Virtue train six times a week and have clubs in Worcester, Droitwich, Bewdley and Kidderminster.
They train people of all ages and abilities. For more information contact Williams on 07935 747401.
