EXCITEMENT is growing ahead of a popular parish festival which has a new logo design.
Organisers of the St Peter's Festival in Power Park, decided to run a competition for the pupils of Cherry Orchard Primary School to design a logo for the festival, with 10-year-old Alice Abraham winning.
Pupils worked on their designs during arts week and the winner was chosen by the St Peter's Parish Council chairman, Alan Tidy.
Festival Organiser, Sian Archer, said: 'We had over 80 pupils enter the competition, such care had been given into the various designs, all shapes, colours and ideas.
"Alice's design hit the brief perfectly because it was bold, colourful and simple but reflected what our festival is all about.
"Local graphic designer, Debbie Rolph, very kindly offered to turn Alice's design into a digital format for us to use in future years, and we're absolutely thrilled with the end result.'
The festival takes place on Sunday July 23 in Power Park from noon until 4pm with the mayor of Worcester Cllr Steve Mackay opening the festival and a 4-person climbing wall as a highlight feature.
