THOUSANDS of Olly Murs fans flocked to New Road in Worcester for a chance to see their idol perform his biggest hits.

But one lucky fan got much closer than most.

Gemma Heywood got to chat to the star in his dressing room - and even got a kiss on the cheek - after winning the dream meet and greet experience in a competition run by the Worcester News.

Miss Heywood, of Toronto Close, in Lower Wick, Worcester, said: "He was absolutely lovely and so down to earth.

"We spent some time chatting to him in his dressing room.

"I feel so lucky to have actually met him and even got a kiss on the cheek. Thank you Worcester News!"

Miss Heywood, 26, a huge Olly Murs fan who had already been to see the star three times before his Worcester show, says her favourite song is one of his well-known hits, Troublemaker.

She said it was "an amazing feeling" to open her post and discover she had won the competition.

Olly shot to fame after finishing runner-up on TV talent show the X Factor and has gone on to become a global superstar in his own right, notching up four multi-platinum albums, four number one singles and selling more than 10 million records in total.

His Worcester show has been hailed a big hit, with fans hailing it "amazing" and Worcestershire County Cricket Club, which hosted the gig, calling it "a total success".
