THE confetti field in Wick is in full bloom and dozens of our readers have been to visit.

We have received dozens of beautiful pictures showing why a visit to The Real Flower Confetti Company’s field at Wick, near Pershore, has become a must-do summer activity for many of you.

The company has chosen the colours of the Union flag for this year’s display of delphiniums and cornflowers to celebrate its 20th anniversary, marking the time since farmer Charles Hudson stumbled upon the idea of using real flower confetti for weddings and the idea took off.

The field will close to the public on Sunday, July 9 after a busy ten days.

Nancy Priscott, from The Real Flower Petal Confetti Co, said: “It has been really successful and very well received.

“It’s a very simple, natural idea and I think visitors find it a bit overwhelming when they arrive and they see the natural beauty of it.

“It’s lovely to share that experience with people.

“We have been much busier this year than last year.”

She added: “There’s a lovely viewing platform and we have a pop-up cafe on site this year.

“It’s just a lovely backdrop and we’ve had lots of families.”

Among them was Catherine Louise Cox who took children Emily, Eva and Edward to see where the petals are grown.

Ann Rees took her mum Maureen Hodgkins to see the flowers, while Patti Gunnell who visited with Julia Saunders said she thought the visit was “amazing.”

Kate Drysdale called it simply: “a beautiful place.”
