YOUNGSTERS from Year 6 of Stanley Road Primary School in Worcester visited the Hive to make a multi-sensory book.

The workshop was inspired by an exhibition of books from the 2017 IBBY selection of outstanding books for children and young people with disabilities, which were on show at the Worcester library from May until June this year.

The exhibition is organised and hung by the International Centre for the Picture Book in Society, a research centre at the University of Worcester.

The workshop was organised and funded by the centre in collaboration with the Hive library as an opportunity for participating students to see and make books adapted for different needs and abilities.

The workshop was led by Becky Palmer, an illustrator and lecturer in illustration at the University, with assistance from two students of illustration.
