THIS year's Upton Jazz Festival has been hailed as one of the most successful ever.

And with the 32nd annual instalment of the annual festival now all done and dusted, organisers are already looking ahead to next year.

Four days of sunshine shone down on the crowds over the long festival weekend from June 22-25, with music lovers enjoying a feast of jazz in the festival village and other town venues.

The festival’s musical director Rachel Hayward said the event was a huge success.

“It was absolutely phenomenal,” she said. “The bands were incredible and the feedback we’ve had was superb.

“We had an amazing time.

“The Saturday was particularly popular – by lunchtime, we were running out of space to park cars.

“At one point there must have been 2,000 people on the main festival field alone, and the campsite was full to bursting.

“Our thanks have to go out to all the stewards and volunteers who work tirelessly all year to make sure the festival is such a success.

"We couldn’t do it without them.”

Next year's Upton Jazz Festival will once again take place during the last full weekend in June.
