THESE dramatic pictures show how Worcester looks - from a steeplejack's point of view.

Steeplejacks working at Powick Mill have shared pictures and video footage from the top of the chimney, where they have been working all week on repairs to the Grade 2 Listed building.

Ben Dawson, who is there with his brother Sam and colleague Matt Pierwola, from Dawson Steeplejacks Ltd, were first spotted by Andy Dawson, from Lower Wick, dangling over the edge of the chimney.

We then shared Mr Dawson's footage of his brother climbing the 165 foot chimney, which has now been viewed 32,000 times.

Mr Dawson said he was "chuffed" with the reaction to his video.

He said: "Myself, dad and brother are over the moon with how many have viewed it. 30,000 is huge for us! We normally have about 1,000 views of our videos."

He added: "Some people have turned up to have a little chat. It's been a great reaction. We are well chuffed with the response."

Mr Dawson has sent in more pictures and videos from the top after many readers of the Worcester News online said they did not fancy working at such great heights but were keen to see what the view was like.

The pictures show the housing estate at Lower Wick as well as the countryside across the Powick Hams and towards the Malvern Hills.

Catherine Milward said: "I saw these two when I drove past on Tuesday.

"I could'nt believe it, they were stood on the top !!!, amazing!! and very very BRAVE !!!!!!"

Jenny Waterhouse said: "Oh wow I felt queasy especially seeing the tiny bit of rope holding it together.

"Uh uh looks awesome I think I'd be too chicken."

The three steeplejacks have travelled from Weston-Super-Mare to investigate the chimney, repair some cracked iron, paint it and install lightning protection.

They will leave Powick Mill on Friday but Mr Dawson said they would be returning at a later date to finish the job.
