GREAT gig - but organisation could have been better - that's the verdict of Worcester News readers on Friday's concert by rock star Bryan Adams.

Hordes of music fans swarmed into the Worcester Warriors stadium at Sixways for the gig, and were rewarded with the sight and sound of Adams and his band performing a set including many of their greatest hits.

On the Worcester News website, Xdream said: "Well done to Bryan Adams and well done to the Worcester warriors! A really good evening. I hope that the club will arrange more gigs like this in the future."

Bacon butty said: "Fantastic night. Superb performance. Great atmosphere."

Kettle64 said: "A fantastic concert only spoiled by the lack of organisational skills, though I guess the blame lies with whoever was organising things rather than the individual stewards.

"There was absolute gridlock prior to the event, it taking us 40 minutes to drive from the bottom of Parsonage Way to Sixways. The traffic flow was held up by the speed that cars could get into the car parks but unfortunately this was not being well managed.

"Three car parks but nothing on the ticket that indicated which car park to use so stewards were telling drivers individually where to go.

"On the site itself, there was nobody in control of the two main queues. How simple it would have been to just lay out a few lines of bollards so that the queue could be more orderly and avoid the confusion.

"Lastly, the bars were under-staffed and disorganised. Until around 8.45, it was taking around 40 minutes to purchase a drink due to the huge queues. Great concert though!!"

St George's Dragon said: "Great to see a major international act coming to our small city. Great gig by Bryan Adams and well done to all involved in bringing him here. Let's have this sort of thing more often."

Margaret Layland said: "Absolutely brilliant night. Thank you Bryan Adams for coming to Worcester (and for pronouncing 'Worcester' correctly!) Ace band! Support act, The Dunwells were superb too. Great for Sixways, great for Worcester."
