WORCESTER St John’s Cycling Club’s Vince Page picked up a trophy for winning the Graham Knowles memorial race.
The third round of a series of four local road contests involved three laps of a 10-mile undulating circuit near Inkberrow.
The races are for all ages and abilities and start with a four-minute time gap between three groups.
St John’s had Andrea Turner in the first group, Alex Garwood-Gowers, Rob Nicholls and Page in the second and Ollie Morgan in the third.
Group two worked well together and caught group one with half-a-lap to go.
Although two riders had gone clear they were about 30 seconds in front.
With two miles to go Nicholls put in a big effort and closed the gap down to a few seconds with 500 metres left.
But Page proved the strongest to take the win with Garwood-Gowers a bike length down in second.
Nicholls came in just behind in sixth and Turner not far behind in 12th.
Morgan in group three finished a few minutes later.
