A KIDDERMINSTER-based children's charity which looked set to face an uncertain future after it found itself homeless, has bounced back after securing new premises in the town.

Crackerjacks Children's Trust had to leave its home at NTM House, in Whitehouse Road, in February - due to the landlord ending the charity's lease early as they required the office space back due to an expansion.

The charity was actively searching for a new base and the co-founder of the trust, Terry Bull, said it would be "devastating" if they were forced to shut down the charity if they could not find a new home.

But, luckily, the trust found an empty building close to their old base which was vacant and was available for rent - but needed a complete renovation.

The building's landlord, Christian Broadhurst, went full steam ahead and completed the work in order for Crackerjacks to move in - including installing a new water and heating system, renovating the kitchen area and removing walls, as well as fitting new carpets and completely redecorating the inside.

Crackerjacks Children's Trust are now settled into their new home - at the Sealine Works building, in Whitehouse Road - and are working towards their goal of raising £83,000 this year to support disabled children and their families.

Mr Bull said: "It was a very worrying time for Crackerjacks and we thought that our staff may have to work from their homes, or even worse, the closure of the charity.

"But, with a bit of luck, I found these new premises which has given the charity a new lease of life.

"This was a blessing for Crackerjacks and we are very grateful to Mr Broadhurst for his kind generosity, help and support.

"We as a charity and our staff are very happy with the new office as the building offers a brand new fresh look and gives the charity room for expansion."

Crackerjacks Children's Trust aim to raise £83,000 in 2017 to support disabled children and their families by supplying vital specialist equipment and respite breaks to offer the children a better quality of life that they sometimes so desperately need.

The charity has been running for more than six years and operates a small fundraising team.
