WYRE Forest's only literary festival will this year feature a full programme of writers including two performers who enjoy international recognition.

Bewdley's Book Week - now in its seventh year - runs between Sunday, September 3, and Saturday, September 9.

On Wednesday, September 6, the popular music chronicler, Barney Hoskyns, who has written definitive biographies of groups and artists on both sides of the Atlantic.

During Bewdley Book Week, he will about the little town of Woodstock, NY, and what happened there between 1963 and 1986.

Barney will appear at the Riverside Church Hall on September 6, from 7.30pm.

The week ends on September 9, in St George's Hall, with Brian Patten, one of the three contributors to the Mersey Sound, Penguin Books' ground-breaking poetry anthology.

Brian returns to Bewdley 30 years after he came to the first Bewdley Festival alongside Roger McGough. Brian reads from a mixture of new and favourite poems and, in a relaxed chat with Neville Farmer, reflects on a career spanning 50 years.
