A COMMUNITY safety day will teach visitors what to do in emergency situations through fun activities.

Droitwich Fire Station on Friar Street will be opening its doors to the public on Saturday (July 29) from 11am until 3pm for a community safety day. The event is free for all to attend and features road traffic collision demonstrations, fire safety displays, urban search and rescue displays as well as young firefighters demonstrations.

Additional to the firefighters will be community first responders, police cadets and Droitwich AED charity who will be doing various activities including CPR and AED.

Station commander, Phill Sanders said: “We would hope that lots of members of the public turn out to our Community Safety Day to meet the crews, watch the exciting demonstrations we have lined up on the day as well as ride a fire engine. It is set to be a great fun filled day for all.”

Visitors will have the chance to have a first-hand look at the equipment and vehicles at the station and meet the firefighters, as well as having the opportunity to ride a fire engine for a donation to the Young Firefighters Association.
