TICKETS for this year's Bewdley Festival are already selling fast - days after going on general sale to the public.

The box office for the 30th Bewdley Festival in October opened at 10am on Saturday (July 22) with fans queuing at Bewdley's Tourist Information Centre to get their hands on tickets to see acts including Dr Pete Waterman OBE, Roger McGough and T'pau.

For the first time ever, tickets for the performances during the 10-day festival are also available online on the Bewdley Festival website.

Tickets for firm festival favourite Lesley Smith completely sold out online within days of going on sale - with only a handful of tickets still available at the Tourist Information Centre.

Eager festival-goer Lorna Jarvis was first in line to buy tickets for Pete Waterman's appearance on October 10 - who has proved a popular replacement for Rev. Richard Coles who had to cancel due to filming commitments.

Next in line, was Andy Kowalik who was keen to pick up tickets for T'pau's concert on October 12.

Dave Collins, festival director, said: "I am very pleased that tickets are selling well across the whole of Festival’s 30th anniversary programme.

“Only five days after tickets went on sale, Bewdley Festival is heading for its first sold-out show. Lesley Smith is a firm Festival favourite and her scheduled appearance this year as ‘Boudica’ has proven to be a sure fire hit. All online tickets have been sold with only a handful left at Bewdley Tourist Information Centre.

"In the daytime programme, Brett Westwood and Max Keen are all well on the way to selling out.

"In the evening programme, opening night with Roger McGough and Little Machine, Jenny Murray and Jan Ravens have already crossed the half-way mark, with the Tom Robinson Band, Graham Gouldman and Sara Pascoe very close behind."

Bewdley Festival runs between October 6, and October 15.
