FIREFIGHTERS have rescued a second cow in as many days from a canal in Worcestershire.
The fire brigade had to help to get the distressed animal out of the Worcester and Birmingham Canal at Alvechurch, near Bromsgrove, today.
A cow was also rescued from the canal at Alvechurch yesterday.
Tony Brannon, of the Worcester-Birmingham & Droitwich Canals Society, said: "There was a happy end and no animal or human was hurt in the incident.
"Unfortunately there is no fencing along this part of the canal and it's really easy for an animal to fall in."
