RE-ENACTORS descended on a city museum to celebrate the launch of a new English Civil War exhibition.
'Worcester's Civil War Story' officially opened in The Commandery, in Sidbury, Worcester, on Saturday, July 29.
Cllr Steve Mackay, the Mayor of Worcester, cut the ribbon at the launch, which involved dozens of re-enactors.
During Saturday, military drills and cooking demonstrations took place in the museum's gardens, which also hosted an authentic civil war camp.
The UK's oldest re-enactment society the Sealed Knot provided the living history camp.
The new exhibition has been set up in a converted wing of the museum, which has undergone improvements.
Worcester City Council contributed £260,000 towards the project, the Heritage Lottery Fund gave £96,000, and a number of other groups also helped out.
Visitors can meet the main characters of the war in the new exhibition, which adds about 45 minutes onto a trip to the museum.
